Harvest Moon

An animated Music video for my song Harvest Moon. I watched the rare super harvest moon, a full moon that occurs exactly on the Autumnal equinox this past Sept 2010. It got me thinking about being perfectly balanced between light and dark, life and death and the Earth starting it's long sleep in anticipation of Spring. In a few days, this song was born. The video took a bit longer...The harvest moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox. there is no long period of darkness between sunset and moonrise around the time following these full moons. In times past this feature of these autumn moons was said to help farmers working to bring in their crops (or, in the case of the Hunter's Moon, hunters tracking their prey). They could continue being productive by moonlight even after the sun had set. Hence the name Harvest Moon. When the night of the harvest moon coincides with the night of the equinox, it is called a "Super Harvest Moon."[1] In 2010 in the contiguous United States.
